From the early 18th century to the beginning of the 20th, many residents of the Wuerttemberg area in southern Germany felt compelled to leave their homeland. More than 800,000 people who emigrated from this region to various destinations around the world including, Australia and the United States. This collection combines onto one CD, seven comprehensive volumes of information assembled from the records of their journeys. The records in this collection roughly span the years 1717-1917. The data was first extracted from the original emigration records filmed at Ludwigsburg for the printed edition. This electronic version offers access and ease of use that is simply unparalleled in the printed version. Each entry contains names of principle emigrant, spouse and children where applicable, information such as place and date of birth (or age at time of application), month and year of application, a destination and microfilm number. With the 60,000 records on this CD, you can search by names, dates, locations, source, keyword or phrase. Includes historical background, frequently asked questions and other help tools.
