Written by Ebenezer Ward in 1869, this book was penned to provide interesting and important information about the South Eastern districts of the Colony. It was dedicated to George Woodroffe Goyder, Esquire.
The book is divided into twelve chapters that explore and detail the South Eastern district and the route to get there. Included in these chapters is information on numerous regions and towns in the district such as Meningie, Mount Gambier, Robe and Naracoorte. Descriptions of trades, institutions, resources and some geographical information is also contained in these chapters.
