The book begins in the year 1800, when Lieutenant James Grant was instructed to survey the coast of Australia from the south-west to Port Jackson.
Also included are lists of the ships that arrived in South Australia and names of some of the early settlers to the state. A list of Grantees of Adelaide Town acres and brief annual chronicles are also included.
