His book brings together the titles of many works which contain lists of Scottish people, and which may be of use to the Family Historian. Other works are mentioned which give a useful background information on various Scottish trades and occupations.
The present volume is a second edition and contains a substantial number of new works which have been produced since the first edition in 1991. Many of the Societies whichmake up the Scottish Association of Family History Societies have been very active in this field in the last seven years and details of the many useful articles are includedin the present work. In addition published lists of vital records have been aided: births, marriages, deaths, non-conformist records, census transcripts, wills at monumental inscriptions.
Ina work of this nature there will be, inevitably, omissions, for which I offer my apologiesbut I hope that the works mentioned between these covers will help facilitateyour research.
