Photography for Family Historians looks at the taking, processing and storing of pictures for the family archive. Whilst the author’s previous books have focused on Victorian and Edwardian photography, he here turns his attention to today’s techniques and technology, bearing in mind both the concerns of the family historian and the uncertainties of the diffident photographer. The reader is guided through the available range of cameras and films, is invited to consider the development and maintenance of the picture collection, and is offered practical advice on taking photographs.
