The History of New Zealand 1895 was written by G. W. Rusden and compiled into three volumes containing the history of New Zealand beginning in the year 1350 with the history on the Maori People.

The first volume contains chapters and information about the Maori People before the European discoveries of New Zealand, the European discovery and exploration of New Zealand, missionaries to the Maoris, and the war of 1846 of the Maori People against the English.

The second volume begins in the year 1852 and includes chapters on provincial legislatures, the departure of Governor Browne, the state of the Maori People in 1863 and 1868 and the Native Lands Court, as well as a chapter on the West Coast.

The final volume begins with a chapter on McLean and the Moari People in 1872, and information on the "Waka Maori" Newspaper. This volume also contains sections on New Zealand statistics and General Gordon which is entitled "The Great Refusal."

Truly a monumental work, this series is one of the well known histories of the region. High quality scanned images of the whole of the original volumes. This CD has been bookmarked for easy navigation, and pages can be searched, browsed, enlarged and printed out if required.
