The Court of Session is the Supreme civil court in Scotland and is based in Edinburgh although cases relate to the whole of Scotland.
Unlike the Court of Session, appeals cannot be made to the House of Lords. The court sits throughout Scotland but appeals are always heard in Edinburgh.
This is an extremely rare document dating from 1683 which includes the Acts of Sederunt (ordinances of the Court of Session for the ordering of processes and expediting of justice) and an index of decisions. You are unlikely to find this book in the public domain, which gives it significant value for those genealogists' whose research is at a more advanced stage
